It’s a gray and rainy day here in the beautiful Pacific NW.  Mudville season will soon be here for many months.  I decided to mention a quick and easy clean-up tip that works v-e-r-y well.

If you have dogs like mine, there is nothing more fun for them than running in the rain and splashing through every mud puddle they can find.  On their idea of a perfect day, they leave home as black dogs and return as brown mud-covered critters.  Then, when we get home, they want to race through the house (on the light carpet…) and shake the mud off in every room as they go.  They think it’s great.  I’m less impressed.

Dog Care tips - Use lemon juice

So – here’s a quick tip for cleaning up and de-smelling a dirty dog without having to give them a full bath.

Put a little bit of lemon juice in a bowl of warm water and wipe them down.  Not only does it remove virtually all dog smell, citrus acts as a natural flea repellent.  A handy thing this time of year!

Try it – it works great!
