Finding durable dog tug toys that last longer than 5 minutes can be a real challenge! But I’ve done it! I’m thrilled with these – my dogs adore them, they’re eco-friendly dog toys, they’re funny and fun, and they last an amazing amount of time.
The Monster Pull Chelsea Loves
Doggles, the maker of the ever-popular Doggles dog goggles, has a whole line of dog tug toys that are amazing. Depending on which kind you get, you can have anywhere between 3 and 4 dogs tugging like mad on the same toy.
Here’s what I like about them:
- They’re made from recycled materials (eco-friendly is good!) and are soft and fluffy to the dog’s teeth
- All of the tugging arms have a built-in squeaker
- The arms are flat and double stitched – so there is no stuffing to pull out and scatter all over your house, and it takes them forever to actually destroy the arms.
- The heads of the toys are stuffed, so there is a place where the dogs can get their mouths around a soft spot.
- For dogs that love to shake toys (like my border collie mix, Chelsea), these things flop like crazy – dogs really go wild for these.

Here’s what happens when I give one to Chelsea.
- Chelsea drags the toy from room to room constantly. This is a dog that normally doesn’t carry toys around!
- In the mornings, after breakfast, she brings the toy over to me to be tossed around the house and chased.
- Then she plays tug with it.
- At some point or another, she usually rolls around the floor on her back, flipping the toy from side to side.
- Then she stands up, runs around, shaking it madly. Hands down, this is one of her top two favorite toys. (Her other favorite toy is a Bumi.)
